Transportation
A department of Barnes-Kasson Hospital, in cooperation with
the Susquehanna County Commissioners offers shared-ride
transportation for all county residents
Transportation includes: medical appointments, social services,
shopping, banking, and transportation to six Senior Centers
throughout Susquehanna County.
Transportation is provided outside of Susquehanna County for both
medical and shopping
purposes. Service area includes Scranton, Sayre, Binghamton or
Tunkhannock
Senior Citizen Transportation
Senior Citizens 65 years and older may have 85% of their fare paid
for by the PA Department of
Transportation, Shared Ride program (Lottery funded). The remaining
15% fare may be paid by the
client or the Area Agency on Aging .Area Agency on Aging requires a
co-payment paid by the client, of no more than 50 cents each way.
Medical Assistance Transportation Program
Persons receiving Medical Assistance may qualify for free
transportation for Medical purposes only.
This funding is paid for by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,
Department of Public Welfare. Mileage reimbursement for self
transport is also available.
Human Services Development Funds
Residents of Susquehanna county may ride free for medical
appointments when sponsored by this program. This funding is
administered by the Rehab center. There is no age limit for this
funding, eligibility is determined by income and need.
